This winter Nathan has been fascinated with Goliath... as in the story of David and Goliath from the Bible. A few weeks before Christmas we were in the car and Nathan started shouting, "Mom, I see Goliath! There's Goliath." This kept happening every few blocks until I realized that he saw the big inflatable Santas and thought they looked like the big giant warrior he had read about. Later that week he kept asking for armor like Goliath. Although, we're supposed to identify with the little boy David who defeated the big bad warrior with just a sling shot and God's help... at age 2, being big and having armor also looks pretty cool! Soon Nathan had made his own armor out of toilet paper rolls, wrapping paper rolls and a ribbon.
